Overview of IARCI Activities and Current Status

Research on Organizational Learning in the AI Era

The first phase of IARCI’s flagship research project on organizational learning in the AI era has been successfully completed. A paper based on this phase has been submitted to MIT Sloan Management Review for review. Preparations are underway to initiate the next phase of the study. Professor Neena Pandey (IIM Visakhapatnam) will present highlights from the first phase, including key findings and their implications for organizations adopting AI at scale

Workshops, Webinars, and Thought Leadership Initiatives

  • IARCI has organized panel discussions and workshops at the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) in both 2023 and 2024.
  • ICIS 2023 (Hyderabad): Two panel discussions with participation from leading academic scholars and practitioners from TCS, LTIMindtree, Accenture, and an AI startup, on the following themes:
  • Revisiting Digital Innovation Ecosystems: Finding a Way for Academia–Industry Research Collaboration to Succeed
  • Paradigm Shift in AI: Generative AI and Beyond
  • ICIS 2024 (Bangkok): A workshop comprising two sessions:
  • A panel discussion on Value Co-creation in Industry–Academia Research Collaboration in Information Systems, with panelists from Digital India, HSBC Bank, TCS, the University of Münster, the University of Zurich, and Brigham Young University
  • Research presentations on industry-related projects by the IARCI Research Fellow and researchers from Digital India and HSBC
  • Looking ahead, IARCI plans to organize a series of webinars on emerging topics starting around March 2026. Proposed themes include human–AI interaction, generative AI, agentic AI and the future of work, AI governance, and related areas. As an initial step, Professor Alan Dennis delivered a webinar on Digital Twins for TCS in May 2025

Support for Early-Career Researchers

  • IARCI remains committed to mentoring junior faculty interested in pursuing high-quality Information Systems research.
  • IARCI is planning joint mentorship of PhD students at the XLRI Doctoral Colloquium in September 2026. In addition, IARCI has proposed organizing a joint doctoral students’ workshop with XLRI in Kolkata in December 2026.
